  PREAMBLE     The kingdom of sicily was a state that thrived in the southern italy from 1130 to 1816 when it merged with the kingdom of the naples . the kingdom of sicily was founded by roger II in what was a successor state of the county of sicily , that has started as far back as 1071 during the conquest of southern italy by the normans . along side the island of sicily the kingdom covered the maltese archipelago and the mezzogiorno region of southern  Italy.      In 1282 a succession against the angevian rule, also reffered to as the sicilian vespers, conquered and anihiliate the forces of charles of Anjou and its rule on the island of sicily . the angevians managed to control the mainlands region  of the kingdom which later became known as the kingdom of the Naples, named after the sicilian capital. the kingdom thrived until 1816 when it merged with the kingdom of the Naples to form the kingdom of tw...

THE GAO EMPIRE: fortified in riches

The Gao Empire precedes that of the Songhai Empire in the region of the Middle niger, its name comes from  the town of Gao situated on the eastern Niger bend. In the ninth century CE, it was considered to be the most powerful and important West African kingdom. Pre-Islamic history of Gao The earliest mention of Gao is by al-Khwārizmī who wrote in the first phase of the 9th century.In the 9th century Gao was already an important regional power. Al-Yaqubi wrote in his Tarikh in around 872: Ibn al-Faqih (writing c. 903) mentions a caravan route from Egypt to ancient Ghana via Kawkaw. During our  younger days, we play around on Saturdays, wait for the school bell to ring on Fridays; with ecstacy the students will rush out of the school to the assembly point to say the grace, I wager that moment is the most joyous moment of the week for us, thus starts the weekends. Am sure that is also how it is for students around the world.
